Live Video Performance

I was working with a team of visualists setting up a system for live camera, effects, and projection for a concert venue type project. Professor Matt Roberts, Hogan Birney, Sean Kinberger, and I were working in Max/MSP Jitter to develop software that takes live camera feed input from a band and does live processing to be projected onto a plexi-glass screen during performance.

Our first trial of this system was on May 2nd at the Monster Energy Drink Battle of the Bands where we did visuals for local band Mirror Pal. We had four infrared security cameras on stage, one tripod DV cam, and a wireless cam we had hooked up to a capo on the end of singer Drew Yardis' guitar. They won the epic battle, placing first out of about forty of Central Florida's best bands.

The system has evolved to include an interactive photobooth and visuals which can be tinkered with via text messaging to an SMS server. Here's Hogan Birney and I talking about the system which debuted at Mirrorp Pal's CD release party.
